In 2023 Vera joined the jury panel of CMB, and she provides her assessment of the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles along with the consequential impact of the medals awarded in the competition:
“The competition’s ability to manage simultaneously the organization of the large number of wines from so many different countries along with the coordination of the numerous international tasters engaged in the meticulous evaluation of these wines, is what truly impressses me. It is incredibly enriching to taste wines with such varied characteristics and evaluate their quality together with people boasting such diverse backgrounds and experiences.
When it comes to the impact of awarded medals on a wine’s image and sales, several factors need to be taken into consideration.A medal earned in a renowned international competition such as the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, carries significant consumer recognition. However, for this accolade to truly enhance a wine’s value and convert into sales, it is important to effectively communicate this message to consumers, with digital platforms and social media playing pivotal roles.”
