The Concours Mondial de Bruxelles reveals the best rosé wines of the year
Rosé Wine Session – The results are out
The 55 judges awarded silver, gold and grand gold medals to wines from 25 countries.
At the beginning of March, in the Pays d’Oc region of Southern France, over 1,200 rosé wines from across the globe competed for the highly coveted Concours Mondial de Bruxelles medals. The Vinolok international Revelation Trophy was awarded this year to a rosé wine from Italy – Y by 11 Minutes Rosé – produced by Pasqua Vigneti e Cantine S.p.A. in Veneto.

Pays d’Oc, the home of wine and good food
At the third session entirely dedicated to rosé wines, the judges discovered the incredible diversity of this French wine region, with a carefully curated programme that also allowed them to savour some truly high-end cuisine. The Chefs d’Oc, in particular, demonstrated that Montpellier celebrates the perfect pairings between gourmet food and wines.
Pays d’Oc, three rosés for the price of one!
This year, many PGI Pays d’Oc wines took part in the tasting session. The judges awarded three Grand Gold Medals to outstanding wines from the designation area. The three wines thus came away with the PGI Pays d’Oc rosé Revelation award.
- Réserve Saint Marc – Foncalieu
- Grain d’Oc Grenache – Syrah Bio
- Amour de Gris by Domaine Grand Chemin
France flies high at the competition
France confirms its ranking as a major rosé producer country. A Provence rosé – the Tourmaline label by Barton & Guestier – won the France Revelation award. The Côtes de Provence wine’s pale hue with its salmon tints and balance typical of the finest Provence wines won the judges’ favour. In the sparkling wine category, Champagne de Barfontarc Brut Rosé came away with the sparkling wine Revelation award. The medium-dry rosé Revelation was awarded to the Délice d’Été Cabernet d’Anjou label by Domaine Leblanc Jean-Claude et Fils.
